Director
Gabriel Rifilato (Rome, 1955) is an experienced journalist, director, and author of creative photography. He is also an expert on pictorial photo retouch and an Apple certified professional. In the 90’s and during 2000, he wrote essays for Rai-Eri about cinema (Dictionary of Films, Dictionary of Director, Dictionary of Actors) and photography (The Creative Digital Shot). Due to his creative photography workshop, in 2013 he founded in Rome an Image Factory, by which he curates exhibitions and experimental workshops of staged photography characterized by the tableau vivants of famous painting and by the Neo-pictorialist digital retouch. In 2017, in collaboration with the visual artist Floriana Cason, he founded the creative studio Ca’ Art Studio launching the quarterly magazine Roman Walks and the monthly magazine Roman Walks Interview. He has recently published the Guide to Creative Vision in Photography published by Ca’ Art Studio Creative Publishing.
Permeated by magnetism and visual ambiguity, the photography of Gabriel Rifilato is nourished by a visionarity that enriches its exuberant creative vein with suggestive contents. A contamination of photographic aesthetics that borders on painting, theatrical scenography, literary narration, with the ambition to adhere to an experience of total art (Ars et Furor, Bruna Condoleo).
Experiences
Roman Walks magazine was designed by the creative studio Ca’ Art Studio founded in 2017 by Gabriel Rifilato in collaboration with the visual artist Floriana Cason. The magazine following the footsteps of the American publication-partner Shots created by Douglas Beasley, expresses itself through a “creative photography” that doesn’t consider “brands and models” of cameras, “application and filters”, “analog and digital”, but that photographic vision that uses machines and technology the way a painter uses a paintbrush: to create meaning and stories behind images, fascination, depth, and magic.
Beyond the Image Factory artists, the editorial team of Roman Walks consists of:
– Art historians
– Cinema critics
– Journalists, experts in the domain of fashion, visual arts and trends.
– Professional photographers

Biographies of contributors
Below are biographies of the contributors of Roman Walks Editorial Board (Direction and Heads of Service):
Art Director
Floriana Cason (Rome, 1970) visual artist and journalist, studied sculpture at the Peccia School in Switzerland and more recently at the Romanelli laboratory in Florence. As a painter she has held several solo and group exhibitions in Italy. In 2013 his installations received the Lorenzo il Magnifico International Prize at the Florence Biennale. An expert in Staged Photography, in 2016 she created, in collaboration with the journalist and photographer Gabriel Rifilato, the creative studio Ca’ Art Studio, followed, in 2018, by the foundation of the magazine Roman Walks.
In the works by Floriana Cason, the past becomes a pictorial “mise en scène”, characterized by fairy-tale irony that never loses contact with that real world source of inspiration in all her exciting work. Symbiosis between figuration and abstraction, where the meanings of the works assume peremptoriness and absoluteness, without imposing themselves, and preferring a playful semantics, free interpretation, in perfect harmony with the spirit of the artist, in which “art without ethics is cosmetic”: that art able to heal the ills of society. (Miriam Castelnuovo).

– Livia Mazzani (Head of Photography)
